Five foreign companies announced closing of their subsidiaries and representative offices in Baku.

Representation of the Japanese company Toyo Engineering Corporation was opened in 2014, although its cooperation with the Azerbaijani government began in 2002 with the delivery of gas pipes and compressor stations for Azerigaz CJSC. In 2011, Toyo Engineering, the construction company Azenco OJSC and the state energy company Azerenergy signed a contract for the supply of a power plant (http://www.toyo-eng.com/jp/en/company/news/index.php?n=193). According to the terms of the contract, a combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of 400 MW was built in the suburbs of Baku as the 2nd project for the production of combined electrical equipment Shimal. The gas and steam turbines were supplied by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
